Exploring Brooklyn (EB) can sometimes be challenging with my crazy schedule but since it’s a very important part of my lifestyle I’m always on the lookout for events that I can take advantage of.
Bedford-Stuyvesant and beyond can explore the diversity of Brooklyn with the return of The Food and Drink Tour. This month it’s all about Tompkins Avenue – this event is a part of an initiative “Feast BedStuy” Celebrating Food & Drink, which started back in 2014 to highlight Bedford – Stuyvesant as a culinary destination for fine dining and casual restaurant.
Organizers: Bridge Street Development Corporation first kicked off Feast BedStuy in October 2014 during the 10th Annual BedStuy ALIVE, a festival that celebrates the Bedford-Stuyvesant Community. The initiative is SIMPLE “Celebrates Food & Drink establishments plus highlights the unique characteristics of the neighborhood” (Love it). In 2004 establishments that participated in the Feast BedStuy placed a red Feast BedStuy sticker in their windows and highlighted their food or drink offering on their menu as ALIVE.
For $5.00 we can experience delicious bites, drinks and off-menu items. On April 21st at 5 PM the festivities kick off at Common Grounds Coffee House, for an additional cost enjoy a special PRIX FIXE dinner menu at Eugene & Company, then move right along to Peaches Hothouse (delish food – you should definitely try) where you’ll experience their new signature cocktail, and finally finish with my favorite part – ok my second fave part wine tasting at Bed-Vyne Wine.
You can purchase TICKETS here at Bridge Street’s website for $5.00 what a great way to support establishments right here in Brooklyn. Bridge Street Development would like you to share your favorite neighborhood spot and what you think is unique about BedStuy by using #FeastBedstuy in your online conversations.
