Lately, I have been living in my head a lot trying to stay motivated and positive. And I found that Sundays became an important part of preparing for the new week ahead. So, instead of Brunching like I enjoy doing on Sundays, I have been sleeping in or relaxing in bed. Developing a Sunday routine and recharging has made a world of difference in my preparing for the new week.
Self-care is not about self-indulgence; it’s about self-preservation.
Audrey Lorde
At times we get caught up with the busyness of our world. We often forget to take care of ourselves, love ourselves up, or take five minutes to breathe. Yet, I know if we do not take care of ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually, we can not possibly take care of another human being or be of any use to ourselves.
Loving and taking care of me has always been my priority. Unfortunately, in the past few months, I have not been great to myself. Which has made me unhappy, unmotivated, and less grateful than I should be. I realized that the older I get and the more authentic I become, loving and caring for myself is the best thing I can do for myself and the world.
I urge you to make YOURSELF a priority this week. Take an hour for yourself daily, and do something for yourself. Ask yourself what you need right now. And then make sure you receive it because you deserve it and are worthy.
Happy Monday – Have a fantastic week.
