For music lovers and culture enthusiasts. Brace yourselves for the iconic summer event in the heart of New York City. Afropunk 2023 is back and ready to rock your world.

This unabashedly bold gala of culture and music returns with even more zest and flair. It is a celebration of black culture and music. And it is taking over Brooklyn on the 26th and 27th of August. But this time, get ready for a jaw-dropping surprise as Afropunk sets its stage at Greenpoint’s Skyline Drive-In, transforming it into a mesmerizing “Circus of Soul” extravaganza. Picture a dazzling carnival that showcases the very essence of Black creativity. It is an explosion of artistic brilliance that will leave you in awe.

The Lineup at Afropunk 2023

And let us talk about the music—the lineup is nothing short of mind-blowing. Prepare to be serenaded by the melodies of R&B soulful enchantress Jazmine Sullivan. And groove to the beats of the one and only rapper-producer extraordinaire, Flying Lotus. But the excitement does not stop there. New York’s own lyrical genius, Joey Bada$$, and the acclaimed rapper Vince Staples will on stage alongside the enchanting singer-violinist Sudan Archives. And the talented Atlanta-based artist, Baby Tate.

And that is just the beginning—Durand Bernarr, Dreamer Isioma, and many other sensational performers will be there.

What is Afropunk?

In the dynamic world of Afropunk, a trailblazing arts celebration has captivated Brooklyn since 2005. This annual extravaganza is a melting pot of diverse music, film, fashion, and art. It is all proudly crafted by alternative black artists. It is a space to embrace the spirit of creativity and individuality.

Afropunk is not just about the music. It is a vibrant community that embraces individuality and rejects societal norms. So forget the daily grind, let loose, and embrace your true self like never before. Your freak flag flies high at Afropunk, and you can proudly be exactly who you are.

And it is not just the music that will captivate you—the Spinthrift Market is a treasure trove of NYC artisans and makers displaying African art, textiles, natural beauty products, clothing, jewelry, books, and prints. You will not be able to resist taking home a piece of this remarkable culture.

Hungry? Fear not. Bites ‘n Beats, a tantalizing “event within the event,” will spoil you with delicious treats from local food trucks and pop-up restaurants. You will satisfy your cravings, and it will keep you fueled for the electrifying experience.

Tickets

Tickets are selling fast, so you can buy your tickets now on the Afropunk website. General admission tickets are only $149.50. While weekend VIP passes offer an exclusive experience with private concessions, restrooms, and a VIP viewing area, all for $309.50.

But for the ultimate VIP adventure, splurge on the special bundle that treats you to a 45-minute yacht tour along the picturesque New York Harbor. This will elevate your Afropunk experience to unforgettable heights, priced at $459.50. [Service fees not included].

So get ready to lose yourself in the magic of Afropunk 2023, where music, culture, and community converge. Embrace your true self, dance like there is no tomorrow, and let the good times roll at the most extraordinary summer festival in the city!
