A Diamond in the Rough located on one of the busiest avenues in Brooklyn “Flatbush Avenue”- a spot easily missed if you’re not looking out. Mangoseed is a place where after a few visits it becomes an episode from “Cheers” where everyone knows your name, what you like to eat and your fave cocktail.
Quiet, Cozy, Diverse and Hip are just a few words I use to describe this hidden treasure, I stumbled upon a few years ago and fell in love with. I’ve had just about everything on the menu and while everything’s YUMMIE – I do have my absolute Faves: Mac & Cheese, Fish Tacos, Jerk Wings (I love em burnt), oxtails, Salmon and waffles, Mangoseed house salad and finally the Whole Grilled Bronzini (I could eat this every day).
Saying the staff is attentive and friendly is an understatement – they are truly wonderful. I absolutely love them – they make you feel special with every visit.
Established in 2009 – this place has truly earned its stripes. Since my first visit in 2010, They’ve expanded to include an outdoor sitting area that’s beautiful in the Summer and Dreamy in the Winter. The Food is consistent – Chief Paul has perfected every sauce, stew, and dressing.
Definitely worth a try whether it’s for Sunday Brunch, an intimate dinner or Happy Hour. I’ll love to hear about your experience and what you enjoyed :)!
