Five Super Cool Brunch Spots
In Brooklyn
Happy Friday dahlings – the weekend is upon us. What have you guys got planned, the weather is great (well it is today and for most of tomorrow) and many of you will probably be enjoying an extended weekend. This Saturday is my baby’s birthday and we’ll be celebrating with an awesome group of ladies for a fun Gal’s Night Out, tomorrow we’ll be celebrating with the family and Sunday it’s mommy and daughter Brunching in Brooklyn time. She’s no longer a baby but she will forever be my baby.
Today I’m be sharing my weekend lineup of cool Brunch Spots – if you’re planning on Brunching in Brooklyn over the weekend, why not give one of my picks a try and when you do I’d love to hear about your experience. If you already have a favorite Brunch Spot please share it with me – I’m always excited to try new places.
Sunday in Brooklyn
I love this place because of it’s laid back vibe – the space features, exposed beams and tons of natural light. The menu isn’t extensive but they feature a decent number of dishes. The cold press juices are definitely a great place to start but if that’s not your thing, then you could go straight for the best freaking Bloody Mary ever.
My go-to menu choices are:
- Malted Pancakes, Hazelnut Maple Praline, Brown Butter
- The Grain Bowl, I usually add the Black Cod (it’s amazing)
- Spicy Cauliflower, Cabot Clothbound Cheddar, Sauerkraut, Red Sambal, Whole Wheat
- Bone Broth [ Beef + Chicken ], Ginger, Turmeric
but everything I’ve had there has been tasty.

MangoSeed Restaurant
This is an oldie but goodie and will probably be one of my favorite brunch choices always. I love this place because the food is always consistent – I have never been disappointed. The Brunch menu has a great choice of dishes, not too extensive but something for everyone. A Sorrel Mimosa is a great way to start and my go-to menu choices are:
- MangoSeed House Salad
- Coconut Smothered Fish with Parmesan Grits
- Mango Pico De Gallo Jerk Salmon & Waffles
- The Flatbush Wings
- B.E.C.C. (Bacon, Egg, Cheese on a Croissant)

I fell in love with this place because of its dining room – it’s probably the prettiest dining-room in all of Williamsburg. The service is wonderful and the food…well you’ve got to try it. Not your typical Brunch Spot but totally worth the splurge – I love their wine selection and the Scotch N Cider cured my sore throat. The Pastries are fresh and delicious. My go-to menu choices are:
- Pumpkin soup
- Sourdough Pancakes
- Herbed Egg Crepe
- Curried Kale Poached Eggs

I love this place because it gives the perfect feel of a cool neighborhood spot – a great offering of low-key comforting meals. My perfect start is a Tequila Sunrise or a Bellini (or a few). My go-to menu choices are:
- Egg Biscuit

Rustic Tavern
I love this place for so many reasons, the eclectic decor, how easy it is to get a last-minute reservation for Brunch (unheard of in Brooklyn), the generous portions and most of all the Unlimited special drink price of $20.00. Start with the Mimosa – I definitely like it better than the Bellini. My go-to menu choices are:
- Shrimp and Grits
- Rustic Omelet
- DeKalb’s Finest Chicken-n-Waffles
- Tres Leche French Toast
- St James Benedict Breakfast
- Salmon Burger
