It is that time again — yes, we are back with events happening May 9 through 15. It is an exciting time in Brooklyn, well, actually, in New York City, there is a lot to celebrate in the coming week. It is almost Mother’s Day; the weather is warmer, which means patio and rooftop season.
This is a gentle reminder that Mother’s Day can be different for many of you, and we would like to take this time to encourage you to take care of yourself. Take time to do things you enjoy — things that bring you joy.
Spend time with loved ones and take time to feel. It would be best if you did whatever you need to feel okay. It could be as simple as taking a nap or a few days away from others.
We encourage you to take care of yourself — this coming week will be the second anniversary of my dear dad’s death, and I needed to take things slow, pay attention to my needs, and take time for myself, so that is what I did. I cleared my schedule, including publishing here, so that whatever is needed, I would be prepared. So take care of yourself.
