Plans for Brooklyn Campuses
President, Andrew Hamilton of New York University announced today the university’s plan to invest $500 million dollars in the expansion of high-tech Campuses in Brooklyn.
The University plan on building on the existing structure of NYU Tandon School of Engineering in the Downtown area of Brooklyn; the investment will take place over the next decade – the building will gain an additional 500,000 square footage of space after the development of the former Transit Headquarters on Jay Street. The Jay Street building will be the largest NYU facility in Brooklyn and will house 1,100 students and 40 faculty members.
Officials stated NYU expanded presence in the Downtown Brooklyn area will lead to Innovative Solutions to some of the real challenges facing the world’s Urban Centers.
