It’s Back
Black-owned Restaurant Month
In 2015 I was excited to write about an event (see here) that not only provided exposure for Black-owned Businesses…it also provided an opportunity for patrons to support black-owned businesses within their community at an affordable cost – the good news is, that opportunity is back.
Blogger, Genese Jamilah I Don’t Do Club, Black-Owned Restaurant month is back. Starting March 20th through March 30th, 2017, we can explore Black-owned restaurants in Brooklyn and the other boroughs; and if you’re in Georgia or New Jersey there are options for you as well.
Participating restaurants will offer custom, three-course Prix-Fixe Dinner for $30.00 (Taxes & Gratuity not included).
This is such a valuable event for restaurants and patrons alike – we can often eat at a restaurant and not take time to find out if it’s black-owned or woman-owned, etc. This event creates that awareness provides an opportunity for us to support a black-owned business and enjoy a diverse culinary experience.
Once again I will express my disappointment that so many black-owned restaurants did not participate however the list is still very extensive. Let’s go out and support Black-owned Restaurants and make this event a success. Below is a list of the participating restaurants:
