I hope all is well. There is so much going on, and I honestly don’t know how I feel right now. I’m numb! A significant part of me is angry, and I also feel a deep sense of sadness, disappointment, and pain. I am mentally and emotionally overwhelmed.
As a black woman, I wish I had some great insight to share today that would make us all feel just a little better, but I am without words. As I search for ways to support my friends and my community yesterday–I was brought to something that gives me great comfort and a sense of togetherness. Food.
I created this list of restaurants yesterday to share with my friends and family. A way for us to love and support our black business owners. Many of us ordered takeout or had meals delivered while others purchased gift cards to give as gifts or to use at a later time.
As I type this, it’s 3:54 AM, and I am still up. I have been unable to sleep for almost 48 hours. I decided to share this list with you, and I hope you join us in love and support.
I ask that you kindly support a restaurant from this list or a black-owned business of your choice as a sign of love and support for one another. We are more than anger, pain, and hurt — we are hope, love, joy, faith, etc.
Here is my list of 101 Fabulous Black-Owned Restaurants — many of which are my favorites. I will also share it on Instagram.
Please share with us other black-owned restaurants and businesses by commenting here or by tagging us on Instagram @brooklynslifestyle.
